Family in Igloo
This composition of a domestic iglu scene with removable top is unique to sculptors from the community of Kugluktuk (formerly Coppermine). The local carving stone is grey-green in colour and has been used to make the main structure of the igloo. However, different types and colours of stone have also been used to show the various implements and articles that are used in an iglu. The top lifts off to allow the viewer to see the iglu both inside and out.
