Qavvavak and Nest with Egg
Pukingrnak was born in the Chantry Inlet area and was one of Jessie Oonarkâs eight children. She settled in Baker Lake in 1958 and began carving in the early 1960s. Themes in her work are often drawn from memories of stories told to her by her grandmother. Pukingrnak was also a member of the Sanavik Cooperative Association Board of Directors and worked for the Sewing Center.
